Invited Lecture by Professor Nani Gopal Mahanta, Education Adviser to the Government of Assam

A distinguished lecture was organised by the Dept. of Political Science, GMCB on 8 March 2022 on the topic “National Educational Policy, 2020: Challenges and opportunities.” The lecture was delivered by Prof. Nani Gopal Mahanta, Education Adviser to the Govt. of Assam. The programme was chaired by Dr. Sahabuddin Ahmed, Principal of the college and coordinated by Dr. Mofidur Rahman, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, GMCB. The programme starts with a welcome not by the principal where he highlighted the academic and infrastructure development of the college. The welcome speech was followed by the distinguished lecture. In the lecture professor Mahanta focuses on the key pillars of the National Education policy, 2020 such as multidisciplinary and holistic education, equity and inclusion in higher education, promotion of India knowledge system, integration of technology in higher education etc.  The lecture was attended by students, teachers, bureaucrats, civil society members, academics, parents etc.
