Programme on Celebration of Lachit Divas
1.6.9.1 Voluntary Blood Donation Camp Organised by NSS and NCC in the College Campus
A blood donation camp was organized at Government Model College, Borkhola by the NCC and NSS units of the college on 21st November 2022 and NGO SMILE. The blood donation team led by Mr Washim Zabed Choudhury, Technician, Super Blood Bank, S. M. Dev Civil Hospital, Silchar comprised of six nurses and attendants. A blood donation awareness camp had been organized in the college under the leadership of Dr. S. K. Nandi, retired CM & HO (Cachar district) on 17th November. A total of 35 volunteers, including faculty members and students, had signed up for the donation programme. The camp started at 11:00 am on the college campus and concluded at 1:00 pm. Faculty members, students and local residents participated in the blood donation camp. Mr. B. M. Singha, a governing body member of the college and local resident was present during the camp. He applauded the faculty members and students of the college on the noble humanitarian programme they organized and said that he looked forward to more such events in the future.
1.6.9.2 Street Play Programme Organised by Cultural Affairs Committee
in Jaroiltala Bazar
Lachit Divas week 2022 programme was organized by NCC Cell, NSS Cell, Cultural and Literary Affairs Committees of Govt. Model College Borkhola, on 17th to 24th November 2022. Street Play was one of the programme of celebration of Lachit Divas 2022 week on the theme “Swatchh Bharat and Patriotism’’. The programme was started with welcome addressed by Dr. Joydeep Goswami, Convener of Games and Sports Committee, GMCB and he talked about the need for cleanness and patriotism.

After the song, the students performed the street play on the theme “Swatchh Bharat and Patriotism’’. They focused on the importance of cleanness and National Flag. In this context, They pointed out the responsibilities of Indian citizens and the patriotic feeling related to our Country. The overall programme was coordinated by Dr. Rupashree Paul, convenor of Cultural Affairs Committee, Government Model College, Borkhola. One of the person from locality namely Mr. Mithu Das appreciated them for the programme and donated water and food items to the students. The local area people enjoyed the programme. Finally, the programme was finished with the vote of thanks to all by Dr. Rupashree Paul , convenor of Cultural Affairs Committee.
1.6.9.3 Plantation Programme Organised by Games and Sports Committee in College Campus
A Plantation programme was organized at Government Model College, Borkhola by Games and Sports Committee of the college on 22st November 2022 on the occasion of the celebration of Lachit Divas. The programme was started with plantation by Dr. Joydeep Goswami, Convener of Games and Sports Committee, GMCB and he talked about the need
for cleanness and plantation. All the students were also participated in the programme.
1.6.9.4 Patriotic song and extempore speech Competition Organised by
Cultural and Literary Affairs Committees in the college campus
Lachit Divas week 2022 programme was organized by NCC Cell, NSS Cell, Cultural and Literary Affairs Committees of Govt. Model College Borkhola, on 17th to 24th November 2022. Patriotic song and extempore speech Competition were also one of the programme of celebration of Lachit Divas 2022 week. The programme was started with welcome addressed by Dr. Rupashree Paul, Convener of Cultural Affairs Committee, GMCB and she talked about the need for cleanness and patriotism.
On the occasion of Lachit Divas week 2022 programme, all the participantsnof street play received certificates. In patriotic song, first prize won by B.A third semester group and second prize by H.S first year group. In extempore speech Competition, first prize won by Suman Nayak, student of B.A third semester and second prize won by Rina Rani Deb, student of B.A third semester.
