Department of Political Science

With an aim to build and guide an academic community of students to develop an open, critical and analytical study of the discipline, the Department of Political Science, Government Model College, Borkhola was established in 2020. It offers courses on Higher Secondary (H.S) Programme under A.H.S.E.C. and Undergraduate (B.A) Pass course programme under Assam University, Silchar. The department is rich in academic comprising three young, energetic, dedicated and dynamic faculty members with years of experience and having high teaching abilities.

Vision and Mission

• To transform lives and serve the society by educating students, imparting values and knowledge.
• It strives to cover from political thought in the modern India to development policy in contemporary times, public administration and international relations.
• To organise Mock Parliament, Debate, Discussion, and Seminars on different socio-cultural and political issues from time to time in order to develop leadership skills and intellectual capacities.
• To develop social accountability of the students, the department will undertake various social and community outreach programme from time to time.
