The Department of English, Govt. Model College, Borkhola, was started in the year 2020 with the establishment of the college in the same year. Initially it was introduced at the Degree level offering Arts stream (Pass course) to the students under Assam University, Silchar (Central University). The Department of English at present aims at enhancing the literary and linguistic competence of the students both at Higher Secondary and Degree levels. Through a dedicated, student-centric approach, the faculty members of the department provide expert guidance on English writing, reading and speaking skills. The pedagogical method is based on continuous debate and discussion for the all round development of the students. The Department currently comprises of three efficient faculty members and offers courses for both Higher Secondary under Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) and Degree (B.A) Pass course under CBCS curriculum of Assam University, Silchar.
